Christmas Tree Tips!

How can I make my Christmas tree the focal point in my home and room?

Did you know that over 33 million Americans will lug home a Christmas tree this holiday season? In anticipation of spending a lovely evening at home decorating it with the kids, their pets and perhaps have eggnog or hot chocolate.

But sometimes the scale of the tree you buy doesn't match the scale of the room you planned to showcase it in. Here are things to consider as you purchase your tree. Follow these simple suggestions, and you'll have a Christmas tree that brings maximum drama to your home during the holiday season.

For smaller spaces

Choose a live tree and nature will help you out. The north side of a tree is usually the least full and should be placed against the wall. Artificial trees come in several silhouettes. Purchase a tree smaller in diameter for tighter spots. Look for the half trees available for really confined areas. If necessary, move a curio cabinet or console table into another room to create the perfect space.

For larger spaces

Float a full tree in the center of a room. This works exceptionally well in a rectangular space. Create a seating group at each end of the room facing the tree. Your tree will become the centerpiece of your home.
